Steps to Configure CX with an Office 365 Email Account

 

1. Create the Inbox in CX channels

  • Go to the Inboxes section and select Add Inbox.
  • Choose Email as the inbox type.
  • Click on Microsoft Icon
  • Enter the inbox details:
    • Microsoft Email: The Office 365 email address you want to connect.
    • Click on “Sign in with Microsoft”
    • Enter your account details
    • Accept OAuth App
    • Select a queue

 

2. Configure SMTP Settings in CX Channels

SMTP Settings (for sending emails):

  • Host: smtp.office365.com
  • Port: 587
  • Username: Your full Office 365 email address.
  • Password: The app password (if MFA is enabled) or your Office 365 account password.
  • SMTP Encryption: STARTTLS

 

3. Save and Test the Configuration

  • After entering the SMTP details, save the configuration.
  • CX Channels should start syncing emails from the Office 365 inbox. Send a test email to ensure the setup is working correctly for both receiving and sending emails.

 

4. Optional Additional Settings

  • If you need to configure specific filters or rules in your Office 365 email, you can do so from the Office 365 portal under Mail and then Rules.

 

Important Considerations:

  • IMAP Enabled: Ensure that IMAP access is enabled in Office 365, as it is crucial for receiving emails.
  • Office 365 Usage Limits: Office 365 also has usage limits for sending emails depending on your plan. If you exceed the limits, you may experience temporary blocks.
